FGM “makes the woman calm” according to one Muslim.
Lizzie talks to some Muslims about FGM, showing it was practised in the time of Muhammad from Islamic sources and is even in a Sharia manual today (Reliance of the Traveller p.59.)
At one point, one of her interlocutors says “if you cut her, the woman will be more calm.” (10:52) and that it stops the woman being “horny.” (13.00)
Lizzie contrasts this with Romans 2:29: ‘No, a person is a Jew who is one inwardly; and circumcision is circumcision of the heart, by the Spirit, not by the written code.”
