Lizzie and Yahya/Saeed discuss whether Jesus is the Son of God, and why Jesus uses the title Son of Man?
13 ‘In my vision at night I looked, and there before me was one like a son of man,[a] coming with the clouds of heaven. He approached the Ancient of Days and was led into his presence. 14 He was given authority, glory and sovereign power; all nations and peoples of every language worshipped him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion that will not pass away, and his kingdom is one that will never be destroyed. Daniel 7:13-14
Again the high priest asked him, ‘Are you the Messiah, the Son of the Blessed One?’ 62 ‘I am,’ said Jesus. ‘And you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Mighty One and coming on the clouds of heaven.’ 63 The high priest tore his clothes. ‘Why do we need any more witnesses?’ he asked. 64 ‘You have heard the blasphemy. What do you think?’ Mark 14: 61-64
Daniel talks to a Muslim on a variety of topics, showing that you can’t pick and choose with the Qur’an, and that you need to be consistent in your methodology when you critique Islam and Christianity.
Hatun and Godwin asks who is the Spirit of Allah? How come he can become a perfect man but Allah cannot?
The verses discussed in this video: s 19:17-19 TRANSLITERATION Fattakhathat min doonihim hijabanfaarsalna ilayha roohanafatamaththala laha basharan sawiyya Qalat innee aAAoothu birrahmaniminka in kunta taqiyya Qala innama ana rasoolurabbiki li-ahaba laki ghulaman zakiyya
MUHSIN KHAN: She placed a screen (to screen herself) from them; then We sent to her Our Ruh, and he appeared before her in the form of a man in all respects. She said: “Verily! I seek refuge with the Most Beneficent (Allah) from you, if you do fear Allah.” said: “I am only a Messenger from your Lord, (to announce) to you the gift of a righteous son.” s58:22 YUSUF ALI: Thou wilt not find any people who believe in Allah and the Last Day, loving those who resist Allah and His Messenger, even though they were their fathers or their sons, or their brothers, or their kindred. For such He has written Faith in their hearts, and strengthened them with a spirit from Himself. And He will admit them to Gardens beneath which Rivers flow, to dwell therein (for ever). Allah will be well pleased with them, and they with Him. They are the Party of Allah. Truly it is the Party of Allah that will achieve Felicity.
Lizzie and Abbas discuss taqqiya – lying in Islam. But they (the Jews) were deceptive, and Allah was deceptive, for Allah is the best of deceivers (Wamakaroo wamakara Allahu waAllahu khayru al-makireena)! S. 3:54; cf. 8:30
Sahih bukhari 5:59:369 Muhammad bin Maslama said, “Then allow me to say a (false) thing (i.e. to deceive Kab).” The Prophet said, “You may say it.” […] When Muhammad got a strong hold of him, he said (to his companions), “Get at him!” So they killed him and went to the Prophet and informed him.
s3:28: Let not the believers take disbelievers for their friends in preference to believers. Whoso doeth that hath no connection with Allah unless (it be) that ye but guard yourselves against them
Tafsir ibn kathir : …meaning (…) believers are allowed to show friendship to the disbelievers outwardly, but never inwardly. For instance, Al-Bukhari recorded that Abu Ad-Darda’ said, “We smile in the face of some people although our hearts curse them.” Al-Bukhari said that Al-Hasan said, “The Tuqyah (lie) is allowed until the Day of Resurrection .”
Tirmidhi 4:1:1939 Asma bint Yazid narrated that the Messenger of Allah said: “it is not lawful to lie except in three cases: Sahih Bukhari 3:49:857 That she heard Allah’s Apostle saying, “He who makes peace between the people by inventing good information or saying good things, is not a liar.” 1. Something the man tells his wife to please her, 2. to lie during war, 3. and to lie in order to bring peace between the people.” (Sahih)
