I have heard that Arabs generally accept that one must be at least eight years old to ride a camel. The only story I know of Aisha riding a camel places her in a carrier or howdah. Other ahadith suggests that a woman must spring into action to satisfy her husband even if she is at the oven or on a camel. Would you leave a six year old, boy or girl, at home with an open flame to cook on? My children of that age might have been be OK if they had plenty of hot dogs and marshmallows but there was not a lot of refrigeration back then. It is obvious to me that Muhammad married the matron Sauda to be a babysitter or nanny to the six year old Aisha.
