‘Kill non-believers’ or ‘kill time with non-believers’? Speaker’s Corner
Hatun talks with a Muslim about whether Islam gives people freedom of belief.
“Fight those who do not believe in Allah or in the Last Day and who do not consider unlawful what Allah and His Messenger have made unlawful and who do not adopt the religion of truth from those who were given the Scripture – [fight] until they give the jizyah willingly while they are humbled.” Sura 9:29
Dawah team gives up Arabic…does Allah pray or bless?
Mohammed Hijab, once a regular attendee at SC, confirmed in his debate with David Wood that Allah PRAYS for Muhammad. The SC Dawah team has had nearly a month to respond to our question – who is Allah is praying to? Yesterday however, it all became about English translations of the Quran. Once again we saw how the Dawah team has no idea who Allah is praying to.
While everything belongs to God and He doesn’t depend on His creation for anything , when we look at Islamic teachings we see Allah is in fact very needy. Allah needs a loan!
“Who is he that will lend God a good loan, and He will multiply it for him manifold? God grasps, and outspreads; and unto Him you shall be returned.” s2:245
“Who is he that will lend to God a good loan, and He will multiply it for him, and his shall be a generous wage?” s57:11
God has heard the saying of those who said, ‘Surely God is poor, and we are rich.’ We shall write down what they have said, and their slaying the Prophets without right, and We shall say, ‘Taste the chastisement of the burning s3:181
Hatun questions a Shia Muslim about Surah 1 – who is Allah talking to?
In the name of ALLAH, the Gracious, the Merciful. All praise is due to ALLAH alone, Lord of all the worlds. The Gracious, the Merciful. Master of the Day of Judgment. THEE alone do we worship and THEE alone do we implore for help. Guide us in the straight path, The path of those on whom THOU hast bestowed THY favours, those who have not incurred THY displeasure and those who have not gone astray.
Hatun and Daniel question Surah 1 of the Quran. The Qur’an is Allah’s eternal speech – so is Allah talking to himself?

Hatun and Daniel look at the manner in which Muhammad received his revelations. Do those signs show that Muhammad is prophet of God or demon possessed?
“Narrated Safwan bin Ya’la bin Umaiya from his father who said: ‘A man came to the Prophet while he was at Ji’rana. The man was wearing a cloak which had traces of Khaluq or Sufra (a kind of perfume). The man asked (the Prophet), “What do you order me to perform in my ‘Umra?” So, Allah inspired the Prophet divinely and he was screened by a place of cloth. I wished to see the Prophet being divinely inspired. ‘Umar said to me, “Come! Will you be pleased to look at the Prophet while Allah is inspiring him?” I replied in the affirmative. ‘Umar lifted one corner of the cloth and I looked at the Prophet who was snoring. (The sub-narrator thought that he said: The snoring was like that of a camel). When that state was over, the Prophet asked, “Where is the questioner who asked about ‘Umra? Put off your cloak and wash away the traces of Khaluq from your body and clean the Sufra (yellow color) and perform in your Umra what you perform in your Hajj (i.e. the Tawaf round the Ka’ba and the Sa’i between Safa and Marwa).” Sahih Bukhari 3:27:17
..Muhammad said, ‘O Khadija, what is wrong with me?’ Then he told her everything that had happened and said, ‘I fear that something may happen to me.’ … But after a few days Waraqa died and the Divine Inspiration was also paused for a while and the prophet became so sad as we have heard that he intended SEVERAL TIMES TO THROW HIMSELF FROM THE TOPS OF HIGH MOUNTAINS and every time he went up the top of a mountain in order to throw himself down, Gabriel would appear before him and say, ‘O Muhammad! You are indeed Allah’s Apostle in truth’ Sahih Bukhari 9:87:111
